How do we change the world? One random act of kindness at a time...
Tonight’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Hull City has been dedicated to reaffirming that message as part of our Random Act of Kindness Day.
No matter how big or small a gesture, a random act of kindness can lift somebody’s mood – whether that be of a family member, a friend of even a stranger on the street.
A message that was particularly prevalent during the coronavirus pandemic was that we should concentrate energy on ‘being kind’ to one another and while life as a whole has returned to looking more ‘normal’ since those times, it is important to remember how big of an impact our actions towards others can have.
This evening’s match has been named as our Random Act of Kindness Day to ensure that we continue to shine a light on the significance that being kind to others can have.
Before each and every home fixture here at AESSEAL New York Stadium, we run our very own Random Act of Kindness initiative in which supporters young and old are selected from the crowd to take part in a unique ‘money can’t buy experience’.
Over the years, fans have been treated to behind-the-scenes access which has included watching the warm-ups from the comfort of the dugouts, flag bearing to welcome the teams out onto the pitch, meeting players past and present and even leading the team out as mascot.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of being selected is to get into AESSEAL New York Stadium early – it really is as simple as that!
Members of the Rotherham United Community Trust staff then identify a supporter at random in the stands to take part.
