Staying for a drink?

Rotherham town centre has a number of pubs that allow home and away supporters to mix on matchdays. The Bridge Inn is considered by many as an ‘away supporters’ pub’ and can be found on 1 Greasbrough Rd, Rotherham S60 1RB, which is around a five minute walk to AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The JD Wetherspoons brand, which is often popular with football fans, has two pubs in the town centre by the names of ‘The Rhinoceros’ and ‘The Bluecoat’ which are located at35-37 Bridgegate, Rotherham S60 1PL and The Crofts, Rotherham S60 2DJ respectively.

There are a number of other pubs and bars that welcome visiting supporters on matchdays, most of which are located in the town centre itself.

If you’re coming to AESSEAL New York Stadium, why not make a day of it and visit the town centre and other nearby attractions.  Rotherham is a thriving borough in South Yorkshire, home to over 250,000 residents and part of a large borough (118 square miles), which is 70% rural with beautiful countryside and picturesque villages only a short journey away.  At the heart of the borough is the town centre, an attractive, compact location with pedestrianised shopping areas overlooked by the magnificent Rotherham Minster. Rotherham Town Centre is a bustling and vibrant place to shop with over 400 businesses including a mixture of high street favourites, small independent retailers, cafes and restaurants, as well as lively indoor and outdoor markets.

If you fancy a full on shopping trip then Rotherham’s Parkgate Shopping offers great shops approximately only one mile north of Rotherham town centre. Shops include Marks and Spencer, Next, Sports Direct and many more.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat then we have all the high street outlets including McDonalds, Subway and Greggs. However, if you’re looking for a sit down meal and a drink then there are a number of traditional pubs in town including a JD Wetherspoons right in the heart of the town centre.   *
