Neil Redfearn talks to Millers Player...

New Rotherham United manager Neil Redfearn confirmed he has been impressed with his current staff after he completed his first official day with the club.

Redfearn held training in the morning before addressing the media at a press conference at AESSEAL New York Stadium this afternoon.

At the press call he confirmed that Eric Black will become his assistant manager, whilst also confirming that he isn’t looking to add to his backroom team at this current time as he looks to tap into the skills of the current setup.

“I think we are okay for the moment, if we feel that we need some extra help then maybe but we already have good people and that is really apparent,” he told Millers Player.

“I want to utilise these people and their skills which will help me, help them and help the club.”

Redfearn oversaw his first session at Roundwood today and admitted that he was impressed with what he witnessed, as he looks to prepare his side for his first game in the dugout against Brentford at Griffin Park this Saturday.

“I am very pleased. We have had a great morning,” continued the former Leeds United boss.

“I have got to meet the staff personally, although I did speak to them on the phone over the weekend. I put one or two ideas to them, and they also expressed one or two ideas and we have had a really good morning. It has been really high tempo, technically and tactically gifted morning, we have got to use that now and take it through the week and into this game with Brentford.”
