Loanee Jack Barmby recently spoke to Millers Matchday...

Leicester loanee Jack Barmby has admitted to enjoying his loan experience following his short-term switch to AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Since putting pen-to-paper on a loan deal with the Millers, Barmby has belied his tender years by giving Steve Evans' men an injection of creativity in the final third, with his willingness to get on the ball and expose defenders one-on-one on either flank, a prominent feature of his play.

Speaking recently to Millers Matchday, Barmby is confident he can give the Millers a much-needed 'X Factor' as they look for the necessary ingredients to unlock well-marshalled and seasoned Championship defences.

"It's a good test for me at this level," he admitted.

"I like to get in the little pockets between defenders and provide assists and goals for the team."

Barmby, who is the son of former England international Nicky, is a graduate of the Manchester United academy and after swapping Old Trafford for the East Midlands in the summer, the 20-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances in Leicester's development squad this season.

However, after learning of Rotherham interest, the Harlow-born player admitted he jumped at the chance of continuing his footballing education in the no-holds barred environment of the England's second tier.

"You can't beat being involved on a Saturday at 3pm, especially playing at Championship level where you are coming up against quality teams week-in, week-out." he enthused.

"I'm enjoying it here. They are a good set of lads with good management and I'm sure playing regular football will only help me get better as a footballer."
