Rotherham United manager Neil Warnock has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month award for April.

The Millers manager won the award for March, and after securing Championship survival, has been nominated again alongside Brighton’s Chris Hughton, Middlesbrough’s Aitor Karanka and Brentford’s Dean Smith.

During the month of April the Millers lost just once, and scored vital victories over Leeds United and Milton Keynes Dons.

The April nominations in full are as follows:

Chris Hughton (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Embraced the thrill of the chase as his side collected 16 points from a possible 18, scoring 18 goals in the process as they closed in on Middlesbrough and Burnley. Their expansive football brought them at least two goals in every April game.

Aitor Karanka (Middlesbrough)

Rotated his squad when he needed to in order to keep his players fresh and guided them through eight unbeaten games in a busy month which saw them consolidate their place in the automatic promotion spots, notably with a 1-1 draw at Burnley.

Dean Smith (Brentford)

A stellar month for Smith and his side. April began with Brentford hovering dangerously near the relegation zone but six wins and a draw from eight games and a 19-7 goals differential lifted them into the top ten.

Neil Warnock (Rotherham United)

Completed a remarkable escape from relegation as he oversaw seven games which yielded 10 points, three clean sheets and included a crucial and emphatic 4-0 win at rivals MK Dons. Defeat did not come until safety was assured.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY MAY 6 2016

The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
