A profile of new signing Peter Odemwingie...

Peter Odemwingie began his footballing journey as a youngster in Russia before moving to Nigeria in 2000 where his career began to take off.

A stint with Nigerian club Bendel Insurance put him on the map allowing for a return to Europe when he signed for Belgian club La Louvière.

In his first season in Belgium he was part of the side that won the Belgian Cup which paved the way for European football, and further enhanced his growing reputation.

French club Lille came calling in 2004 where he enjoyed a three-year stint as they challenged at the business end of the French top flight. They finished runners up during the 2004/5 season, and that earned qualification to the Champions League where they would reach the knockout stages.

In 2007 Odemwingie earned a big money move to Lokomotiv Moscow where he was a regular scorer in his three years back in Russia.

He first came in English shores in 2010 after signing for Premier League West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee. He scored on his Premier League debut in the 1-0 victory over Sunderland, and would go on to net 15 goals in all competitions in his debut season.

He would stay with Albion for a further two seasons before joining Cardiff City for a fee believed to be around £2.25million. He only made 17 appearances during his stint in Wales before moving to Stoke City in a swap deal.

After two years with the Potters he ended last season with a loan spell at Bristol City, scoring against the Millers in the 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate.
