Following on from a recent fixture at AESSEAL New York Stadium during which a number of away supporters were identified and subsequently removed from home areas, Rotherham United would like to emphasise that the club operates a zero tolerance policy on ticket purchases being made on behalf of away supporters in home areas.
It goes without saying that away fans being located in home areas has the potential to compromise the safety of our supporters – the safeguarding of which is always at the forefront of our priorities as a club.
The club has since been able to identify and ban a number of fans who have been in breach of our ticket regulations by intentionally purchasing tickets in the home end on behalf of travelling supporters, following the sell-out of an away end.
Selling your seat as a Season Ticket holder without the use of the buy-back scheme is a serious violation of our Season Ticket Terms & Conditions.
The club prides itself on its accessibility and inclusivity by creating an environment in which everybody within our community and beyond is able to safely enjoy AESSEAL New York Stadium.
We are extremely pleased with the culture that we have been able to create with your help in the 10-plus years that we have played our football here, but will not stop striving to enhance it and will take any measures necessary to achieve that.
