The Millers swooped for the highly-rated operator during the close season of 2016/17, paying Falkirk an undisclosed fee for his services.

The former Tranmere Rovers youngster has made his name north of the border after a short spell in England with Workington Town.

In a three-year spell at the Falkirk Stadium, he has played over 100 games for the Bairns before moving back to England to sign for the Millers.

He made a spectacular debut for the Millers by netting a 25 yard wonder-goal in the 2-2 draw with Wolves, one of 42 appearances in his first season at the club.

Vaulks' first experience of The Championship wasn't an easy one, and the Millers were relegated in his first season at the club.

During the 2017-18 campaign, Vaulks enjoyed a new lease of life as he played a prominent role in midfield, right-back and central defence as the Millers earned an instant return back to The Championship.

Vaulks scored eight goals, many from outside the area, with arguably his most important arriving the Play-off semi-final second-leg against Scunthorpe.

Vaulks' impressive season was capped off with the Player of the Year award, Players' Player of the Year award and the Community Player of the Year accolade.
