Midfielder Riche Towell made his long awaited return to the AESSEAL New York Stadium after completing a loan move from Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion on transfer deadline day.
After a successful loan spell during the 2017-18 campaign, boss Paul Warne chased the signature of the Irishman for the majority of the close season but had to wait to finally get one of his top targets.
The former Republic of Ireland U21 international, who started his career at Celtic, signed a new deal with the south coast club at the end of the 2016-17 season, but joined the Millers for the first time, again on deadline day, looking for regular first-team football.
He proved to be a shrewd signing for Warne, with Towell making 46 appearances in all competitions, including the Play-off Final at Wembley, as the Millers clinched promotion back to The Championship at the first attempt. Towell also won the Goal of the Season award for the team goal he completed away at Northampton.
Earlier in his career he joined Celtic as a youngster but following a loan spell with Hibernian, the 26-year-old enjoyed tremendous success back in his native Ireland.
He signed for Dundalk, helping them to back-to-back titles, with his impressive goal ratio alerting a number of top clubs, before he decided to join Brighton.
