The Liverpool-born operator arrived at AESSEAL New York Stadium from Milton Keynes Dons in the summer of 2017 having agreed a two-year deal with the club.

The cultured midfielder made in excess of 200 appearances over a six-year spell with the Dons, in which he worked alongside Richie Barker and became a popular figure at stadium:mk in the process.

Potter’s previous clubs also include the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Wolverhampton Wanderers, after he progressed through the youth ranks at Liverpool, where he made two senior appearances.

He is also a fully-fledged Republic of Ireland international, after making his debut in a friendly against Ecuador in 2007.

He started the 2017-18 season in fine form, and was a stand-out operator during the first two months of the season. Injury eventually took a firm grip on his season, and after making a comeback from his first injury, and ankle issue in Novemeber would keep him out for the season.

Just when it looked like he was ready for a return, Potter suffered another blow and is currently sidelined with an ankle issue.
