Andre Green joined the Millers following the expiration of his contract with Slovakian outfit Slovan Bratislava, prior to the beginning of the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship season.

Representing England from U16 through to U20 level, Green joined Aston Villa at the age of nine and progressed through the youth ranks before making his Premier League bow as a 17-year-old. He went on to play 48 times for the club, including in their Play-off final victory over Derby County in 2019.

Following the expiration of his Villa contract, Green – who also spent time on loan with Preston North End and Charlton Athletic - made his first switch to South Yorkshire, joining the Millers’ South Yorkshire neighbours Sheffield Wednesday. He played 15 times for the Owls before sealing a switch across the continent to Slovan Bratislava in the summer of 2021.

Featuring in Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League qualifiers, Green’s time in Slovakia has certainly been success-laden, helping his former club win the league title in both seasons, netting 11 goals in all competitions last term.

Green initially arrived at Roundwood on a trial basis, but has impressed boss Matt Taylor enough to hand him a two-year deal.
