Rotherham United signed forward Kyle Vassell from Blackpool in June 2018.
The striker signed on the same day as Blackpool teammate Clark Robertson and put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Like Robertson, Vassell played a pivotal role in helping the Seasiders to promotion from League Two, notching 13 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions in the process and also saw him finish the season as the club’s joint top goalscorer alongside Brad Potts and Mark Cullen.
The Milton Keynes-born frontman started out with Norwich City before he joined Brentford where he would continue his football education. Early experience came in the forms of work experience loans to in the non-league before he departed for Dover Athletic following the conclusion of his scholarship at Griffin Park.
A number of moves in the non-league followed before he caught the eye of Peterborough United whilst playing for Bishop’s Stortford, who swooped to secure his signature for an undisclosed fee in 2013.
Vassell enjoyed loan spells with Oxford United, Dagenham and Redbridge and Shrewsbury Town whilst contracted at London Road and ended his three year affiliation with Posh by joining Blackpool in 2016.
He made his debut for the Millers in The Sky Bet Championship against in Brentford in August 2018 and went on to feature 25 times for Paul Warne's side.
Vassell netted six times in 24 appearances during the 2019/20 campaign as the Millers won promotion from Sky Bet League One.
