A product of the Rotherham United Academy, Jerry Yates burst onto the scene at AESSEAL New York Stadium following a string of impressive performances in the youth and reserve teams which caught the eye of the first team staff.
Yates made his professional debut as a second half substitute in a game against Birmingham City at St. Andrew's in the Millers' first season back in the Championship and has been a regularly involved in the first team setup ever since.
He enjoyed a loan switch to Harrogate Town, where his eye for goal endeared him to the fans and has been a mainstay in the Millers' Final Third Development League squad.
He agreed a contract extension at the end of the 15/16 season, and impressed during pre-season, netting in the friendly with Sunderland.
He would at times lead the line on his own in The Championship, most notably in the home game against Norwich where he scored in a 2-1 success.
During the start of the 2018/19 season, Yates enjoyed a fruitful loan stint with League Two Carlisle United where he netted seven times in 29 appearances.
