David Ball joined the Millers in the summer of 2017 with boss Paul Warne keen to boost his attacking options ahead of the League One campaign.
The then-27-year-old enjoyed a five-year spell with Fleetwood Town, which included a starring role in their promotion to League One in 2014 via the play-offs and came to an end after the club narrowly missed out on promotion to the Championship in the Play-off semi finals.
Ball played a significant role in his final season at Highbury Stadium, netting 14 goals in 55 appearances but began his career closer to home than on the west coast. He came through the ranks at Manchester City, where he helped them to FA Youth Cup success in 2008.
Whilst at City he enjoyed a loan spell at Swindon Town in 2010, before signing for Peterborough United on a permanent basis in 2011.
After two loan spells at Rochdale, he made the move to Fleetwood in 2012, where he made over 200 appearances in all competitions
