The Millers secured the services of long-term target Sean Raggett in the summer of 2018, having tracked his progress closely since his days with Lincoln City.

The no-nonsense defender joined the Millers on loan from Norwich City ahead of the club’s 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Raggett’s footballing journey began in the youth setup at hometown club Gillingham before he was released in 2010. In an attempt to kick start his career, he joined non-league Dover Athletic, where he spent six years, enjoying a number of loan switches away from the south coast to further his experience.

His big break in the game came when Lincoln City came calling to sign him in 2016, as they looked to mount a push for promotion back into the EFL. He became a regular in the heart of the Imps’ defence and rose to national recognition when he headed home an 89th minute winner in the FA Cup tie against Burnley to help his side into the quarter finals of the competition.

Raggett’s efforts had not gone unnoticed further up the pyramid and the Canaries swooped for his signature in 2017, loaning him back to Lincoln for the remainder of the 2017/18 season in January.

He returned to his parent club in the summer before penning a deal with Paul Warne’s side ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
