Rotherham United have completed the signing of defender Joel Ekstrand on a deal until the end of the season, subject to EFL and FA ratification.
The former Watford central-defender joins the Millers after leaving fellow Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City just before the transfer deadline.
The Sweden international boasts an impressive CV which includes promotion from The Championship during a highly successful spell with Watford.
He played against the Millers for Bristol City earlier in the season during the 2-2 draw at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Ekstrand started his professional career in his native Sweden with Helsingborgs IF before a move to Serie A where he signed for Italian giants Udinese.
He joined Watford, initially on loan, and helped the club to the Play-off final in 2013.
After making the move permanent in 2013, he made 25 appearances in the 2014/15 season as Watford won promotion to the Premier League.
He left the Hornets in 2016 and has been with Bristol City during the current campaign.
