Midfielder Shaun McWilliams becomes the latest recruit to arrive at AESSEAL New York Stadium this summer, where he will formally complete his move upon the expiration of his contract with Northampton Town this summer, subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The highly-rated 25-year-old has been snapped up by boss Steve Evans following a decade-long stint with his hometown club at Sixfields Stadium and has penned a two-year agreement with Rotherham United.

The energetic midfield man makes the Millers just the second permanent home of his career, having represented only the Cobblers on a full-time basis until now.

McWilliams makes the switch having made north of 200 appearances in Northampton Town colours, with whom he has enjoyed promotion from Sky Bet League Two and also amassed as wealth of third tier outings.

Northampton born and bred, the midfielder can call upon regular first team football in the season just gone, during which he made 36 league appearances.

His signature follows those of Jonson Clarke-Harris and Joe Rafferty as Evans continues to take the initiative when it comes to assembling his squad in preparation for the 2024/25 campaign.

Full reaction from Sean will be available to watch shortly on www.themillers.co.uk.
