Rotherham United can confirm that they have reached an agreement to mutually end Daniel Ayala’s contract at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The Spaniard joined the Millers in October last year on a deal until the end of the 2023/24 campaign and he featured seven times for the club before a long-term injury sidelined the 33-year-old.
The length of the rehabilitation process and the significant amount of first team action that would render him absent from meant that Ayala was not named in the Millers’ 25-man squad that was submitted to the EFL at the end of the Winter Transfer Window.
Following discussions with the player which took into account in his welfare and the best course of action for him to continue his rehab, it was mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Rotherham United.
