READ | STAR PEOPLE MAKE MATCH-WORN EMIRATES FA CUP SHIRTS AVAILABLE FOR AUCTION IN DONATION TO ROTHERHAM HOSPICE

Rotherham United are delighted to be facilitating the charitable sales of seven match-worn and signed shirts from the Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie at Fulham for 2023/24 sleeve sponsors Star People Recruitment who have made the kind donation in support of the Rotherham Hospice.

Star People Recruitment - whose branding adorned the Millers’ shirt sleeves for the tie at Craven Cottage and are a sister company of Events 4 Healthcare who have made the same agreement in previous seasons - made it clear from the outset of their new commercial agreement with the club that they would like to once again raise funds for the Hospice with the donation of a number of shirts worn during the club’s involvement in the competition.

As a result of their charity, the Millers have been able to team up with CharityStars to set up an online auction for the worn and signed jerseys, from which 100% of the profits will go to the Rotherham Hospice.

Last season’s auction raised over £2,000, and with the seven shirts up for auction this year, we hope to raise even more.

All proceeds of the auction will go the Rotherham Hospice, the diamond in the crown of the town which requires a staggering £3 million per year to allow them to continue to carry out their invaluable service, providing our community with a comforting, supportive and dignified environment, often in the most difficult of circumstances in life. The donations raised by this auction can help to ensure we have that for years and years to come.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to once again thank our Diamond Partners; AESSEAL, Equisolve, Hughie Construction Ltd, IPM Group, Mears Group and Steelphalt - who have enabled us to proudly wear the Rotherham Hospice logo across our first team shirts throughout the 2023/24 season as a result of a unique charitable commercial agreement.

Star People are the strategic recruitment and outsourced partner for pharma, MedTech, and biotech companies looking to maximise their commercial success through tailored recruitment and people strategies, and this auction has been made possible as a result of their immense generosity. The shirts available in this year’s auction are as follows:

  • Arvin Appiah (Match Worn)
  • Tolaji Bola (Match Issued)
  • Tom Eaves (Match Worn)
  • Dexter Lembikisa (Match Worn)
  • Jamie Lindsay (Match Worn)
  • Ollie Rathbone (Match Worn)
  • Seb Revan (Match Worn)

Keen to express his gratitude once again following another of our commercial partners pledging their commitment both to the club and the local community, Commercial Director Steve Coakley said:

“I want to place on-record the wholehearted thanks of everyone at Rotherham United to Star People for what has proven to be another fantastic commercial agreement.

“We have always maintained that we want to work with people and businesses whose values align with ours and having worked with E4H in previous years, we had no doubts that we would enjoy an equally successful relationship under the Star People umbrella.

“We’re excited to be working with Charity Stars on this project, who will run the auctions to ensure that every Millers supporter gets a chance to not only help with the fundraising online, but also get their hands on one of the match-worn shirts from English football’s oldest cup competition.”

Steve Coakley, Rotherham United's Commercial Director

“I’d like to make it clear that Star People are under no obligation as part of this agreement to give anything away and the gesture that they have once again made on behalf of the Rotherham Hospice is an entirely selfless one, which will no doubt raise a fantastic amount of money."
