READ | MILLERS INVITING SUPPORTERS TO SEND NAMES IN FOR ROTHERHAM REMEMBERS TRIBUTE TO TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO STOKE FIXTURE

8 January 2024

Sponsored by

Rotherham United are once again inviting supporters to share the names of their loved ones to be included in our annual Rotherham Remembers tribute, which will see us join in paying our respects to players, staff and supporters who have passed away in 2023 prior to our hosting of Stoke City on Saturday 13th January 2024.

We have always considered it to be our privilege to play a part in remembering the Millers who have supported, played or worked for the club by collectively paying our respects at the turn of the year and the very least that we can do in the way of a gesture to repay those same individuals for the love and loyalty that they showed to us during their lifetimes,

This tribute has become a poignant staple of the New Year calendar and one that we feel to be incredibly important as we celebrate the lives of our beloved family, friends and fellow Millers, who devoted so much of their lives to supporting or representing the Rotherham United crest.

The response that we receive year-upon-year to this tribute is overwhelming and whilst we always hope that the list of Millers that we are mourning is a short one, we know that the occasion provides ourselves and the loved ones of those who have left us, an incredibly moving opportunity to remember them together with the Rotherham United family.

In addition to the tribute being played out prior to the game at AESSEAL New York Stadium, we will also be making the video 'Rotherham Remembers' reel available to fans through our social media channels, meaning everyone will be given the chance to pay their own respects to the Millers who are so sadly no longer with us.

We are asking supporters to once again join us in paying our respects to the lives of the Millers who are no longer with us, by sending in names to be remembered ahead of kick-off against Stoke City on Saturday 13th January 2024 – our first home game of the New Year.

Fans wishing to have their loved ones’ names displayed on the big screen prior to the game on Saturday 13th January 2024 should send the name they would like displayed to remembers@rotherhamunited.net with the subject titled ‘Rotherham Remembers 2023.’

We have introduced an automatic email response system which will acknowledge receipt of the name you have sent in. Please be aware that if you do not receive this acknowledgement email, it is highly likely that we have NOT received your email.

Please send in the names spelled as you would like them to appear. Any names that are duplicated will only appear on the honours reel once.

The names will also be printed in the official matchday programme for this fixture, the deadline for which will be 5pm on Monday 8th January 2024.

Please note, that as much as we will endeavour to ensure that all names sent in are included in the matchday programme, any sent after this time will not be guaranteed to appear due to printing sign-offs.

We will be able to accept names for the tribute which appears on the big screen up until 5pm on Wednesday 10th January 2024.

Unfortunately, any names we receive after this time will not be included due to production times for the programme and big screen content.

To ensure that we do not miss any emails, names MUST be sent in by email in the following format:

Toremembers@rotherhamunited.net

Subject: Rotherham Remembers 2023
