Rotherham United U18s and Huddersfield Town U18s played out a thrilling 4-4 draw on Tuesday, with the game featuring an incredible hat-trick from Millers forward Josh Ayres.
The Millers raced into a 3-0 lead with Ayres netting on nine minutes, with his second of the game in the 37th minute coming after Kane Richardson’s strike five minutes earlier.
The Terriers came back strong with goals from Hazeem Bakre, Milkyas Mebrahtu, Cian Philpott and Danny Isaac to lead 4-3.
But it would be Ayres who would have the final say, netting in added time to complete his treble and rescue a point for the Academy.
