Rotherham United stopper Viktor Johansson has gathered quite the collection of Mattress Online Man of the Match awards this season and he has another to his name, after another fine display against Hull City last night.
It’s simply a level of performance that we have – rightly or wrongly – come to expect from Rotherham United’s number one.
Our super Swede between the sticks has been a shining light in pretty much every game that he has featured in for the Millers this season and his showing in last night’s narrow defeat to Hull City once again lived up to the outrageously high standards that he has set for himself.
A Gordon Banks-esque save down to his right was probably the highlight from another portfolio of excellent stops, but his all-round demeanour and care for the badge once again shone through despite Johansson ending up on the wrong end of the result.
He was the runaway Mattress Online Man of the Match as voted by you, the supporters, with 80.7% of the 534 votes cast.
The returning Cam Humphreys also had his performance nominated for the award, while ever-improving Aston Villa loanee Seb Revan finished an admirable second, after yet another display which caught the eye in Millers colours.
