We asked, you voted and Cliff Richard’s hit song Bachelor Boy will become the club’s new pre-match anthem at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The club has run a series of feedback forms and polls to open the decision up to you, the supporters, with it being confirmed following last night’s deadline that Bachelor Boy emerged as the overall winner.
Cliff Richard’s track narrowly beat locally-produced Millermen with New York, New York and Drop Me Off In Rotherham also among the final contenders.
The club will now incorporate the new anthem into each and every home matchday moments before kick-off, by playing out a section of the track before fading the music down to allow supporters to raise the volume levels by continuing the lyrics in the stands.
It is hoped that the implementation of our new ‘anthem’ will provide AESSEAL New York Stadium with a final ‘lift’ as we go into battle each and every week and in turn, give Leam Richardson and the lads a boost as the referee’s whistle blows.
We would once again like to thank you for your feedback and we look forward to hearing you in full voice before tomorrow’s hosting of Southampton.
For clarity, the club will play the following section of the track over the stadium PA before fading the music down for Millers fans to continue…
