POST-MATCH | WE NEED CONSISTENCY IN OUR LEVELS AND HABITS - RICHARDSON

Rotherham United head coach Leam Richardson once again signposted a number of positives following his side's narrow defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

It was the visitors who made all of the early running at MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium and they were rewarded for doing so when Tom Eaves netted his second early goal in as many games to give the Millers the lead.

A second half comeback from the R's meant that the Millers' tough run away from the comfort of AESSEAL New York Stadium continued, but as was the case at Ipswich Town in midweek, there were a number of shoots of optimism from another energetic performance.

"It's disappointing in that we've got a horrible habit of going ahead in games and are doing very well but then the fine margins go the other way.

"You can see it affects them so much when you're in a situation like ours.

"The first half was very even and I thought we finished it very strongly but we need to stay consistent in our levels and habits in the second half.

"I think we were 1-0 up and could have gone 2-0 up and possibly taken the game to them, but when you're in that habit you perhaps go two or three steps back rather than two or three forward as I would like.

"We want to go around and make a good fist of it, we're just falling short of it in certain areas.

"We need more belief and consistency in our habits. When we're on top, we should impose ourselves even more. There's still belief there.

"There's a hunger there to compete as you can see. It's easy to roll over and lose the games 4-0 or 5-0 as we possibly were before but that's certainly not in my nature. We want to turn performances into results."
