Rotherham United Under 18s were edged out in a five-goal thriller away at Bradford City last Friday afternoon.

The Millers made an excellent start and took the lead with eight minutes on the clock when Joel Holvey combined with James Clarke down the left flank, before the latter delivered a cross for Reece Wilson, who got across the front post to apply a good finish to make it 1-0.

The Bantams turned the game on it’s head to lead 2-1 at the break, but Rotherham fought back to level on the hour-mark through Josh Ayres, who scored a goal completely of his own making. The attacker received possession from a ball down the left before cutting inside and bending an effort into the top corner from just inside the box.

The scoring wasn’t done there however and the Bantams found the winning goal inside the last 10 minutes to take all three points.
