Rotherham United Football Club is urging its supporters to do something amazing this September and sign up for Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning.
Every year, Macmillan’s flagship event brings thousands of people together to make a real difference to the lives of people living with cancer. Every cup supports the charity’s incredible work, doing whatever it takes to help people living with cancer live life as fully as they can.
On average, around 1,680 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in Rotherham, but thanks to the fantastic support and generosity of the public through events like Coffee Morning, Macmillan can continue to be there for them.
In 2022, the wonderful people of Rotherham collectively raised £48,116 through coffee mornings and it’s due to wonderful supporters who attend or host a Coffee Morning that Macmillan continues to deliver its vital cancer services, as 98% of its income comes from fundraisers and supporters.
Such services include the Macmillan Support Line, which offers financial, practical and emotional support seven days a week, 8am-8pm, for people living with or affected by cancer. Last year, 439 people from Rotherham phoned our support line for advice and help.
