POST-MATCH | WE COULDN'T SUSTAIN OUR GOOD MOMENTS - TAYLOR

Boss Matt Taylor was disappointed with the manner of the goals they conceded at the John Smith’s Stadium as the Millers lost out to Yorkshire rivals, Huddersfield Town.

Goals either side of the break from Josh Koroma – a former Rotherham loanee – and Sorba Thomas brushed aside the challenge of the Millers who, arguably, matched the hosts for large parts of the White Rose clash.

“I think the first goal epitomises where we are at the moment. We will say we were a little unlucky but we played a huge part in that. We had the opportunity to clear the ball on numerous occasions. We were a man down and we did not see out that moment. We had opportunities to see out the danger. We conceded too many counter attacks in that first half.

“In the second half, I thought we were second best. The ball went through the team too often. There was a bit more physicality from the opposition team.

“We had some good attacking moments at one-nil. We made the keeper make a save from Fred’s header but we did not have the execution and contribution to get back into the game. We did not have the quality to get the ball where we wanted to. The moments of quality were lacking far too often.

“The second goal has killed us. It came out of nothing. It was a long ball and a couple of contacts and it goes to our backline. We were chasing the space to defend. It was really frustrating on our part. At two-nil you are chasing the game and you are a little disjointed.

“The goals are so frustrating and it’s a disappointing aspect for us”.
