READ | MILLERS TEAM UP WITH TRUST TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF FLOODING IN THE LOCAL AREA

Sponsored by

Rotherham United and Rotherham United Community Trust are collaborating to support those in the local area who have been affected by the flooding caused by Storm Babet.

We have been saddened to learn of the devastating effects that last week’s inclement weather has had on various regions across the Borough and are extending a helping hand to the families in question with the small gesture of an offer of match tickets and places at our Half-Term holiday camps.

Together with Rotherham United Community Trust, it is hoped that children of the families displaced by the flooding can enjoy our holiday camp at Wickersley this week, whilst allowing their parents and guardians the necessary time to assess damage and start the tidy up to get their homes back into a liveable condition.

The Trust are also offering 15 pairs of tickets to anyone affected by the floods for Wednesday night’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Coventry City. The tickets are paired with 1 x adult and 1 x Junior, with any child attending being offered the opportunity to fly the centre circle flag on the pitch at AESSEAL New York Stadium ahead of the game.

We appreciate that our gesture will not come close to atoning for the heart-breaking damage that the recent flooding has caused to the homes of people in the Rotherham area, but we do hope that it serves a purpose in providing respite to those affected – whilst hopefully handing youngsters the chance to escape the challenges that they are facing at home, if only for a little while.

Alongside colleagues from the Community Trust, we will continue to explore ways in which we may be able to support those affected by the floods and will endeavour to offer a helping hand however possible as the families of our supporters and people in the area look to get back on track.
