Hakeem Odoffin has been voted the Mattress Online Man of the Match for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Haks – normally deployed in central midfield – was deployed in central defence alongside Sean Morrison for the clash against the Hoops, with the Millers losing another defensive body in the shape of Lee Peltier.
Odoffin had previously played in that position during his time with Hamilton in Scotland and looked assured throughout the match, with it taking a wonderful effort from R’s forward Ilias Chair to breach the defence five minutes into the second half.
Matt Taylor’s men rallied and deservedly equalised when Georgie Kelly converted Cohen Bramall’s cross.
Odoffin very nearly capped off an impressive afternoon with the winning goal for the Millers, but was desperately unlucky to see his header from Cafu’s corner cannon back off the crossbar, as the points were shared.
He was nominated for the award alongside Kelly, Bramall and Ollie Rathbone, earning 55.4% of the 578 votes cast.
