Rotherham United’s Millers Memory Club will meet at AESSEAL New York Stadium this Friday 2nd June 2023.

Despite the season drawing to a close, the Memory Club will continue to hold meetings throughout the summer as part of our ongoing support for those who are suffering with or have encountered the challenges brought about by neurodegenerative illnesses.

As always, our amazing team of volunteers will be on-hand to provide their delicious homemade cakes and snacks whilst John Breckin will once again be a supportive presence within the group.

The Memory Club has rightly drawn plaudits in footballing circles this season and has been recognised for the service that it provides, not only to our former players and staff, but also supporters and members of the local community.

Keen to continue the good work which has already been undertaken, Honorary Life President John Breckin has ensured that meetings will continue over the summer months despite the first team enjoying some richly-deserved time off from fixtures.

“It is really important that we continue to open our doors to people who need us, in fact, possibly even more so during this time of year when there are no football matches to provide a form of respite,” John told www.themillers.co.uk.

“Our commitment to the people of Rotherham is year-round and does not just fall in line with the football season. We are fortunate that we have a Community Sports Trust who continue to allow us to use their facilities and a team of volunteers who would turn out whatever the weather to help other people.

“Even though the group is now well-established, we want people to feel like they can always come along. If you or a friend hasn’t been down before but feel like the support we can offer would help your experience with memory-related illnesses, we want to see you.

“Come and have a coffee and a piece of cake and chat about bygone eras of Millers teams with like-minded individuals. It really is a casual – not clinical – environment and it is always lovely to see faces new and old down at the stadium.”
