Rotherham United striker Jordan Hugill has been rewarded with the Mattress Online Man of the Match award for his display in Saturday's victory over QPR.
Ever since he arrived in South Yorkshire in January, the striker had always insisted that he can bring more to the team than just goals and has so far proven that by being the focal point of the Millers attack.
On Saturday, Hugill again led the line superbly and was rewarded with his first goal for the club, which came after 13 minutes, when he calmly slotted the ball past Seny Dieng following some good work by Chiedozie Ogbene down the right flank.
Having opened his account for the club, his second goal would come with 20 minutes remaining, when Rob Dickie pulled him back inside the area to prevent him from getting on the end of another Ogbene cross and the forward made no mistake converting from the penalty spot.
The R’s did earn a penalty of their own to set-up a nervy finish, with Jamal Lowe scoring from 12 yards, but those nerves were extinguished when Hakeem Odoffin scored an accurate finish to make the game safe at 3-1.
Odoffin was nominated alongside Hugill, as well as attackers Tariqe Fosu and Chiedozie Ogbene, but it was the Middlesbrough-born operator who earned the supporters’ vote, with 58.6% of the 1,123 cast.
