Matt Taylor post Cardiff City...

“It was clearly not playable in certain places. More around the outside, but there was standing water through the middle as well.

“The first inspection was half an hour after the initial suspension and then the other 15 minutes. The question then became how long do you give it until it does become playable.

“Then you have to consider the state of the players and any other future injuries that may occur. The longer it went on, the less likely it was that the game would be played.

“There are certain situations that you cannot control. I was fully focused on improving the team if I’m being completely honest.

“We made a change at half time and then a further two after that and we needed to. They were tactical changes.

“I was disappointed that we were having to chase the game because of our own performance. Then the focus completely changed on getting the game to be playable. Ultimately, the weather is the weather and we can’t control that.

“What we can control is that the next time we play, our performance levels improve.”
