Rotherham United are delighted to confirm that our women’s team, Rotherham United Women FC, will be donning our newly released 2023/24 primary kit throughout their upcoming campaign, in a club-first move.

Interest in the women’s game in the town and indeed nationally has continued to skyrocket since the captivating UEFA Women’s EUROS, which saw the Lionesses win the trophy in front of a packed out Wembley Stadium last summer.

Since then, the club have been making great strides both on and off the field to further align our men’s and women’s side and for the first time, RUWFC will be wearing the same primary strip as the men during the new season.

We’re incredibly proud to have a women’s team associated with Rotherham United and are determined to continue our efforts to help raise the profile of the women’s game.

In a season of firsts for RUWFC, the Women’s Players’ Player and Player of the Season awards were presented alongside the men’s at our 2022/23 Season Dinner and Pete Jarvis’ side capped off a truly memorable campaign by triumphing in the inaugural #HerGameToo Shield Final against Mansfield Town Ladies in front of 1,124 fans at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

In a year where RUWFC saw their crowds double since the start of the campaign, we’re hoping to inspire as many people as possible to follow the team, as they prepare for a tilt at promotion next season.

Due to RUWFC agreeing their own commercial partnerships, they will have their own individual sponsor on their First Team kits this season.

Rotherham United Women FC Chair Jamie Noble expressed his delight in a move which he believes is another great stride for the growth of the women’s team.

“The women’s team is something that we’re continuously looking to build and we’ve made incredibly progress on that front in just a short space of time, but we want to continue on the upwards trajectory we’re on,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“Our aim is to make our men and women’s team as closely aligned as we possibly can and this is another huge step in doing that. Visually, the women’s team will mirror what the men team wear on a Saturday afternoon.

“It’s an exciting time for RUWFC with our summer recruitment drive well under way and interest has continued to peak with our summer trials fantastically attended as we look to improve both on and off the pitch.”
