Rotherham United’s AESSEAL New York Stadium will once again play host to England’s U19s, who will be welcoming Iceland to South Yorkshire as part of their UEFA European Under 19 Championship qualification campaign.
Ian Foster’s side will lock horns with Iceland at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday 25th March in a 2pm kick off, which makes up one of their wider qualifying group round of games, in which they will also take on Hungary and Turkey.
The fixture in Rotherham is part of the UEFA Elite Round, in which the Young Lions also do battle with Hungary at Walsall’s Poundland Bescot Stadium on Wednesday 22nd March before finishing their qualifying campaign by hosting Turkey at the Technique Stadium in Chesterfield on Tuesday 28th March.
Only the group winners will qualify for the U19 EURO finals, a tournament which will see England try to defend the crown, having won the competition in 2022.
England were crowned U19 European champions for a second time in July 2022 adding to their 2017 title. As a result, Foster’s group qualified for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup to be hosted in Indonesia in May.
