POST-MATCH | We held our own against a good opponent - Taylor

Matt Taylor following his side's 0-0 draw with Sheffield United at AESSEAL New York Stadium...

"I think the game was entertaining enough in terms of the effort that both teams put in. We came across a quality team today and held them generally at bay.

"We had two good chances in the first half, but I know we didn't create enough in the second. We ran out of a little bit of legs and steam but how resolute they were at the back is credit to every single one of them.

"On another day, maybe Haks' chance goes in, but we have to give respect to the opposition, who pinned us back at times and caused us problems.

"There were a few debuts out there and returning bodies, so hopefully this is a sign of what is to come in terms of what we want to achieve.

"We've gone toe-to-toe with a very good team today, they'll get promoted out of this league and deservedly so but we have to our mentality that we want to try and win games of football.

"Bailey had a clash of heads on the far side, the other lad didn't seem too injured by it, so I think it was just the area of his head that has made him concussed.

"I don't think he quite knew where he was when Lee [Peltier] and the physios spoke to him and he is as tough as they come. The big issue now is what we do in terms of concussion protocols.

"We have come up against quality opposition in recent weeks, none more so than Sheffield United but we have to keep backing up results, regardless of who we play.

"We need the same desire and the same will, no matter who we play. That has been one thing that has pleased me in recent weeks, the desire has been second to none."
