Rotherham United can confirm that Wayne Carlisle has left the club by mutual consent.

Wayne arrived at the club in October 2022 alongside former boss Matt Taylor and was part of the coaching staff that secured the club’s survival in the Sky Bet Championship in the 2022/23 campaign.

Following Taylor’s departure, the Millers turned to Carlisle to take interim charge of first team matters during which time he oversaw fixtures against Leeds United, Hull City, Birmingham City and Swansea City.

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to place on-record their thanks to Wayne for his unwavering commitment and professionalism throughout his time at the club, placing a particular emphasis on our gratitude for his contribution whilst leading first team matters in recent weeks.

He leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Rotherham United.

The club would also like to take this opportunity to confirm that first team coach Dan Green and goalkeeping coach Scott Brown will continue in their current roles following the appointment of head coach Leam Richardson.
