Rotherham United’s travelling contingent of 345 supporters who made the epic trip down to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday have been voted as the club’s Mattress Online Man of the Match – and we wholeheartedly agree.
We want to begin by once again expressing our wholehearted thanks to each and every single Miller, who committed to the time and expense associated with such a long trip in the build-up to Christmas. Not only were we impressed that 345 of you decided to join us on the South Coast, we were also eternally grateful for the loud and proud backing you gave the lads at Home Park.
It goes without saying that we were disappointed not to be able to reward your effort with a positive result, but we hope that you agree that Leam Richardson’s side turned in a much more ‘Millers-like’ performance at the weekend, and were unlucky not to come away with anything after battling so bravely with 10 men for a large period of the game.
Those same fans would have been equally pleased to have been in attendance as Tom Eaves netted his first goal for the club – in his second spell – right in front of the away end after watching the all-action Jamie Lindsay net his first of the season to open the scoring.
Nominated alongside the supporters for the award were Eaves, Lindsay and Cohen Bramall, with the travelling 345 landing the prize with 53.6% of the 1,032 votes cast.
