Rotherham United can confirm that midfielder Ben Wiles has completed a move to fellow Sky Bet Championship outfit Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee, subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The Academy graduate, who joined the Millers aged eight, has been one of the youth system’s biggest success stories in recent years having worked his way up through the ranks to establish himself as a first team regular for whom he made 193 appearances.

Hailing from Rawmarsh, the homegrown talent has played an integral role in some of the club’s most successful times in recent seasons as an established figure in the Millers midfield.

His Rotherham United career highlights most notably include a sumptuous strike in the club’s Papa Johns Trophy success over Sutton United at Wembley in 2021 and his history-making goal against Sheffield United, which secured the Millers a first win in 40 years at Bramall Lane.

The 24-year-old had moved into the final year of his contract in 2023/24 and with the club unable to come to an agreement with the player over a new deal, the decision has been made to take the opportunity to receive a fee – which will remain undisclosed – from Huddersfield Town for his services.

Ben has encountered so many Rotherham United staff throughout the course of his journey which began at eight-years-old and we are all immensely proud of the journey that he has been on.

He leaves with the best wishes and thanks of everyone here at AESSEAL New York Stadium for his contribution over his many years with the club and we hope that his example will shine brightly for others in the Academy looking for their own pathway into the first team.
