Christ Tiehi completed his long-awaited move from Czech side Slovan Liberec on Friday and went straight into Matt Taylor’s starting XI for their latest Sky Bet Championship fixture against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The midfielder impressed on his first outing in Millers colours with an assured display in the middle of the park.
He played his part in a move which saw Taylor’s men complete 17 successive passes before Hakeem Odoffin finished the attack by making it 1-0, but the home side hit back to win 2-1 thanks to a brace from teenage midfielder Jobe Bellingham.
Tiehi earned 36.4% of the 472 votes cast, seeing himself nominated alongside Tyler Blackett, Viktor Johansson and Ollie Rathbone.
