Rotherham United goalkeeper Josh Vickers has been voted the Mattress Online Man of the Match for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship game with Luton Town.
The goalkeeper, who has recently found himself back between the sticks following an injury to Viktor Johansson, put in another accomplished display against the Hatters.
Having kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at Norwich City on Easter Monday, Vickers was again in good form, making a near-miraculous save to deny Amari’I Bell the opener just before the break.
Unfortunately for the stopper, there was little he could do to prevent Carlton Morris opening the scoring just moments later and found himself even more unfortunate when Town added a second just after the break.
A handball in the area gave Cauley Woodrow the chance to double the advantage and Vickers thought he’d denied him with a brilliant save from the spot, only for the striker to capitalise on the rebound.
Vickers was shortlisted alongside Cameron Humphreys and Jamie Lindsay, earning 69.7% of the 499 votes cast.
