Rotherham United will be using the Good Friday meeting with West Bromwich Albion in the Sky Bet Championship to pay their respects to Andy Wood and Ruby Tucker – two members of the Millers family who have tragically been taken too soon.

Andy was a Rotherham United mad 16-year-old who had been a Season Ticket holder and followed his club wherever he could. The last match that he attended was on that incredible day in Kent, when the Millers secured a Sky Bet Championship return at Gillingham in the final match of the 2021/22 campaign. His life was cruelly ended when he was murdered on 13th February 2023 in Essex.

The club will be encouraging supporters to join in a period of applause on the 16th minute of the game against West Bromwich Albion as a show of support to all of Andy’s family and his many friends.

The news of Ruby’s passing reached us more recently and came in equally heart-breaking circumstances.

Ruby’s life was taken unexpectedly at just 21 months old with the news rocking the local community who have rallied around her family and friends during an incredibly difficult time.

Those who knew and loved her have been paying their respects and outwardly showing their support to Ruby and her family by displaying the colour pink – most commonly in the form of a ribbon.

The Millers will join in paying tribute with our first team staff set to wear pink ribbons in the dugout on Friday.

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to all of Andy and Ruby's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Once a Miller, Always a Miller.
