Rotherham United will be inviting everyone inside AESSEAL New York Stadium ahead of Thursday night’s Sky Bet Championship game against Cardiff City to join in a minute’s applause in memory of our former player and League Cup finalist Barry Webster.
The club received the sad news earlier this week that Barry had passed away aged 88 and will pay tribute to one of the greats from the 60s who reached that first ever League Cup final ahead of the game at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Barry’s achievements in Rotherham United colours included over 200 appearances and he boasted the honour of being the club’s top goalscorer in his first two seasons with the club, which was no mean feat for a right winger.
He will forever be remembered as one of the heroes who reached the first ever League Cup final against Aston Villa and a fine player from one of Rotherham United’s truly great eras on the pitch.
The club have invited members of Barry’s family to attend the game as we pay our respects on Thursday evening.
Once a Miller, Always a Miller.
