A Josh Ayres hat-trick inspired Rotherham United U18s to a thrilling victory over Morecambe in the Youth Alliance Cup.
The forward struck twice in an eight minute frenzy from the Millers, with Ayres striking in the 40th and 48th minute, either side of Adam Clark’s goal.
Ayres completed his treble with 20 minutes remaining, as Richard Hairyes’ side made the perfect start to their cup campaign.
