Rotherham United Women begin their Vitality Women’s FA Cup journey this weekend, as they welcome Altofts AFC Ladies to Roundwood for a Second Round Qualifying clash.
The fixture will take place at Roundwood Sports Complex, with a 2pm kick off on Sunday 2nd October. Adults can attend the fixture for £3, with the game free of charge for concessions.
Whilst we’re really looking forward to seeing you at Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Wigan Athletic, Sunday’s FA Cup tie offers supporters another chance to get their Rotherham United fix and cheer the Millers Women on in what we’re hoping will be the first step of a memorable cup journey.
Head of Community Jamie Noble, who is also the Chairman of RUWFC is hoping to see supporters both old and new to turn out and see the side in action.
“We’ve seen a huge uptick in the interest surrounding the women’s game following the highly successful UEFA Women’s Euros 2022, which of course saw the tournament games hosted right here in our town,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.
“We wanted to ensure that the tournament was just the start for us and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to turn up and support the team as we begin what we’re hoping will be an extremely positive run in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
“Whether you’ve been down to Roundwood to cheer the team on before or if you’re a first-time fan, everyone is welcome here and what we offer is a family-friendly environment to watch football.
“Of course, with the game being on a Sunday, it means that the game doesn’t clash with the men’s fixture against Wigan Athletic the day before, so why not come down to Roundwood and get your Rotherham Untied fix?”
Please be aware that Roundwood is a cash only venue, card payments WILL NOT be accepted at the ground. We would advise any supporters attending to plan in advance as there are no cash points within close proximity to the ground.
Furthermore, we would like to remind supporters that there is limited parking within the ground. Spaces cannot be reserved and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Alternatively, parking is available in the surrounding area, but please be courteous to local residents.
