Despite defeat at the weekend against Hull City, there were still a number of standout performances.

Honourable mentions must be given to former Hull man Tom Eaves, who applied himself well throughout his time on the pitch and firmly established his presence against a strong Tigers defence, as well as Irish targetman Georgie Kelly who made a cameo off the bench around the hour mark, grabbing a goal in the process.

These two fell narrowly short of the shortlist, which included versatile defender Wes Harding, midfield operator Dan Barlaser, and the eventual winner Viktor Johansson.

Wes found himself adopting a number of roles throughout the 90 minutes, starting the game at centre back and finishing it at wing-back as Lee Peltier entered the fray.

The Jamaican performed admirably, repelling a number of cross into the Millers box, and even producing a few of his own at the other end after being shifted out wide by Taylor.

Dan Barlaser more than earned his place on the shortlist, pulling the strings in typical fashion at the heart of a strong first half display from the Millers, finishing it off with a brilliant goal.

The midfielder was fed the ball by Ferguson down the left before cutting inside and driving the ball off the post into the bottom right, past a diving Baxter.

The eventual winner, however, was Swedish stopper Viktor Johansson who continues to mount his efforts for a national team call-up ahead of the Qatar World Cup, backed up by six clean sheets and an incredible performance against Stoke City.

He commanded his penalty area well and claiming each crosses that entered his box effectively. The keeper produced nine saves throughout the match against a productive and dangerous Hull attack, standing tall to deny a number of clear-cut scoring opportunities.

The loveable Swede earned 62.3% of the 576 votes cast by Millers fans following the full-time whistle.
