Dubbed ‘The Geordie Pirlo’ by supporters, Barlaser had a hand in the first goal of the evening when he unlocked the City defence with a superb slide rule pass, which was thundered home by Cohen Bramall.
Having just been pegged back, the midfielder showed great awareness to pick out the run of Conor Washington in the second half, with a perfectly executed through pass through to the striker, who took the opportunity.
His display certainly caught the eye, with Dan earning 80.4% of the 981 votes cast on the night, with Conor Washington, Cameron Humphreys and Ben Wiles also nominated.
