Rotherham United boss Matt Taylor admitted that there were elements of his maiden outing with the Millers that pleased him, while there were also areas that his side can improve on following a good home point against Millwall on Wednesday night...

“I loved some aspects of us and I was a little bit more concerned about others.

“I think that was obvious to anyone that was at the game tonight.

“We had heart and endeavour and an intensity to start the game. We played forward and ran forward and dominated the first half an hour with our physicality."

“From that point on, we struggled to gain any more elements of control.

“We made what I hope were uncharacteristic mistakes and maybe that was on the effort that they had put in previously.

“The game became a little bit stretched especially around our middle. So we had to strengthen that core up a little bit more.

“We kept them at arms-length and barring an outstanding save in the second half from our goalkeeper, it was a wonder goal that has got them back in the game.

“I think so [it’s a good point] on the balance of the second half. I loved that start and it obviously took a little bit out of the group and we became a bit disjointed.

“I tried to give us a physical platform early on in the second half at the top end of the pitch with Tom coming on.”
