Rotherham United U18s slipped to a home defeat against Burton Albion at Graham Solley Development Centre.
Unlike the first team, the Academy will continue to play throughout the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.
Their next fixture is this Saturday, when they travel to take on Harrogate Town in the Youth Alliance League.
