Commemorating a decade of New York memories, in style.

Start spreading the news, the Millers have unveiled their 2022/23 Primary Strip which will be worn on our latest adventure which takes us back to the Sky Bet Championship next season.

The club have collaborated with The Graphic Bomb to assist with the design of a strip which – like the stadium itself which it has been designed to celebrate – is iconic and eye-catching.

Once again working closely with Puma Teamwear, the Millers have this season taken the opportunity to mark 10 years of football at our AESSEAL New York Stadium home with a sleek but subtle nod to the unique architecture at the place that we call ‘home’ incorporated into this year’s design.

This season’s ‘primary’ strip has a classy feel to it, with the club welcoming back a black trim to accompany the famous red and white for the first time since the late 90s.

Also modernised and featured on the shirt is the brand new logo of our main primary shirt sponsors, IPM Group, whose branding proudly sits atop the bespoke illustrations provided to commemorate 10 years at the stadium.

Our partners at IPM Group have revamped their branding to ensure that it slots seamlessly into the 2022/23 shirt design, even dropping their own primary colours in the process to guarantee that the aesthetics of the strip remain clean and consistent.

The images which have been sublimated into the design of the front of the shirt have been hand-drawn by The Graphic Bomb and have been expertly weaved into this season's kit design by Puma Teamwear to provide this ‘commemorative’ effort with an extra special touch.

Not only do we believe – and we accept that we are biased – that this is one of our most exciting primary strip releases of the modern era, but it also presents supporters with a chance to join us in marking the 10 years of success that we have enjoyed since we moved into our wonderful surroundings here back in 2012.

The shirt features a black round-neck collar which is accompanied by the same trim on the arms, whilst retaining the traditional predominantly white sleeves which have been so highly in-demand by Millers supporters over the years.

The shorts include a similarly subtle black trim, whilst this season’s socks are highly-comparable to those worn by the Millers throughout the 90s, with a white and black trim running around the sleeve above the Puma Cat logo.

Whilst it won’t be noticeable to the outside footballing world, supporters who purchase a primary strip with us this season and therefore get to see it up close, will also note the commemorative use of the number ‘10’ inside the neck of the jersey. Again, keen to reaffirm that this strip is very much a celebration of the decade of memories that we have created here at AESSEAL New York Stadium, but also hopeful of doing it in a way that not only fits in with the shirt design, but also enhances its look.

Upon the release of the 2022/23 Primary Kit design, Rotherham United's Commercial Director Steve Coakley expressed his delight at the 'commemorative' effort from the Millers, thanking everyone involved for their part in creating a strip that he hopes will do a decade of memories at AESSEAL New York Stadium justice.

“There has been lots of collaboration done behind the scenes to create this kit design to ensure that we do celebrating 10 fantastic seasons at AESSEAL New York Stadium justice," he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“We have had so many good memories down here at AESSEAL New York Stadium - even though the stadium is still in its relative infancy of operation - and it felt important not to let the opportunity to celebrate those achievements go to waste.

“We have brought back a black ‘trim’ to the primary strip which is something I know was a regular feature on the 90s Rotherham United kits, in an attempt to really give this year’s effort a ‘classic’ feel.”

“I would like to say a special thanks to Rick and his colleagues at IPM Group, who have revised their branding for inclusion as our main primary shirt sponsor, to align with the core colours of the shirt. A huge thanks also goes to The Graphic Bomb, who have provided us with the bespoke illustrations of the stadium which are sublimated into the design of the shirt and really make this design feel ‘commemorative’."

Steve Coakley, Rotherham United Commercial Director

Speaking after seeing the shirt for the first time and having agreed an extended deal for the primary shirt to continue carrying their branding for another season, IPM Group CEO Rick Bailey said:

"IPM Group are delighted to extend our front of shirt sponsorship into a second successive season with Rotherham United Football Club.

"Our shared vision of boosting local companies and employing local people was very much at the forefront of our plans last year and resulted in hundreds of jobs being created within the local community."

Rick Bailey, CEO of IPM Group

"We were delighted to share the amazing promotion, and trophy-winning journey with Rotherham United and the people of the town, which will no doubt will make last season’s IPM sponsored jersey iconic for years to come. Having seen the 2022/23 strip we are sure that it will be another to remember for Millers supporters as we look ahead to the new season.

"We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the forthcoming season and are sure that our continued, shared efforts will put both organisations in a great place to succeed both on and off the pitch."

There will be a pre-order facility which will go live on the website in June with a view to the Primary Strip being available for purchase in the Red and White Shop later in the month - an official date for which will be confirmed in due course on www.themillers.co.uk.

The Millers' 'Primary' strip will once again be worn on the road in the 2022/23 season, where our opponent's kit does not clash.
