Rotherham United stopper Josh Vickers has been nominated for the February Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award.

The Millers ‘keeper has been in scintillating form of late, helping his side to six clean sheets in their seven league matches throughout the month.

Alongside a whole host of key saves, Vickers also made a game-changing contribution in the meeting with Accrington Stanley, in which he saved a last minute penalty to earn his side maximum points.

The full list of nominees are as follows:

Amadou Bakayoko (Bolton Wanderers) - striker

One-quarter of Bolton’s striker rotation system, Bakayoko turned his 366 February minutes into five goals. Crucial ones, too, using his athleticism and timing to score a last-gasp equaliser at Morecambe and a late winner at Oxford.

Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday) - midfielder

Man-marked all season, the Scottish creator has even had two men on him at times, but it didn’t stop him running every February game with his vision and wit. He either scored or assisted a goal in five of Wednesday’s six fixtures.

Alfie May (Cheltenham Town) – striker

A career month. May struck eight goals in six games, added to an assist. His four goals at Wycombe featured a delicate looped finish, a close-range header, impeccable control and an instant lob, and finally a calmly struck equaliser to make it 5-5.

Josh Vickers (Rotherham United) - goalkeeper

The Millers needed Vickers’ shot-stopping ability in February to edge close games. That they still won six out of seven and conceded just one goal was down to his brilliance at Sheffield Wednesday and a penalty save against Accrington.
